Jason Hartley-Smith BSc (Hons) Traditional Chinese Medicine, Cert KHT Ac (Seoul) MBAcC
Hello, I thought I would write a little bit about myself.
My initial training was as a Tai Chi ( T’ai chi ch’uan) and Qi Gong (Qigong) practitioner some 20 years ago and from there I discovered a love of Eastern philosophy and their healing arts.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) or Traditional East Asian Medicine (TEAM), as it is sometimes referred to, is a coherent and independent system of thought and practice that has been developed over two millenia.

Tai Chi and Qi Gong
After 5 hard years of training, I began to teach Tai Chi and Qi Gong under supervision and also to compete in competition where I achieved placings of 4th in Chen 83 form (the first 15 steps) and 4th in sword form at the 2000 UK Open Tai Chi competition in Oxford.
In 2004 I gained my instuctors certificate to teach Chen Tai Chi Forms, Weapons and Qi Gong.
In 2006 I decided to broaden my horizons and work towards changing my career, I was in IT, and over the next 3 years gained Diplomas in Reflexology and Massage.
The Degree focused on TCM theory but also had a great deal of Anatomy & Physiology, Pathophysiology and Professional Skills.
Following my graduation I have completed Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses:
I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC) who are the professional body responsible for regulating Acupuncture in the United Kingdom and my membership number is 959302.
In my spare time, I enjoy Running, Hiking, Yoga and Music. I hope to meet you soon.
